Spring is here. The job is not. Interestingly, I think it was last spring when I applied for this position. Months later I received the following rejection:
Good Morning,
First, we would like to apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for your interest in the NFL’s Summer Internship Program.
Although your background is impressive, we regret to inform you that we have decided to pursue other candidates whose background and experience more closely meet the needs of the Legal department. Please note that these decisions were very tough for our interviewers as this selection process was VERY competitive.
Our organization is constantly growing and evolving and we are always looking for exceptional talent to help drive our different businesses. For future employment opportunities, please continue to check our NFL Career Center, which is accessible at www.NFL-Careers.com.
Thank you again for your interest in working with the National Football League. We wish you the best in your search in finding a rewarding position.
That is correct. I was rejected from an Internship Program. I applied just to see what the process was like and did not expect that it would take months to receive an answer. At least they were kind enough to apologize for the delay.
Using caps shows that they did not take my application lightly. For that, I am thankful. I take solace in knowing that the selection process was ‘VERY’ competitive. Had it been anything but, I think I would be more upset.
